THE PARTS OF BODY

IF YOU WERE NOT LIMITED BY THE DEMANDS OF THE NATIONAL/REGIONAL CURRICULUM, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU WOULD TEACH YOUR STUDENTS (IN A CLIL CONTEXT)? 

HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS THEIR LEARNING?

If we were not limited in our teaching and assessments by the demands of the regional or national curriculum, I think I should teach a lot of interesting and important things about the importance of parts of body for 5th grade of Primary School in a subject of Science because students will be able to know that our body is essential to do anything as running, drinking and other actions. And they have to know the different parts of our body as bones, muscels between other important parts.
I consider important for assessment in CLIL to explain the objectives of this unit. 

The objectives are as follow:

·   To recognise the parts of the body: bones, muscels, joints, upper extremities and lower extremities.
·    Learning the importance of doing different actions with our body.
·    To distinguish the characteristics and functions of bones, muscles and joints.

I will assess my students recognizing the different parts of their body, furthermore they have to use to describe it (this is and these are), to help the student’s learning and to check efficiency of teaching programme with describing how their body move.
I will also assess language learning skills (grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation), language in use (reading, listening, speaking and writing), language competencies (socio-linguistic and strategic competencies), also general behavioural and social skills and a general impression of the student as a member of the class.
The four Cs framework for my lesson will be:
Language contents: vocabulary: bones (femur, humer, urna, skull, tibia, patella, ankle, toe bones, brain), muscles (deltoids, biceps, pectorals, abdominals, quadriceps, trapezius, gluteus, calves)  and  joints (tendon, ligament, enthesis, bursa, articular catilage) structures: practise the past, the present and future tenses with grammatical structures about: there is in my body, this is, these are and sentences as: which joints are you using, which bones are you using, what is this, can you feel your muscles.

Communication: children will develop the four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) in class. The listening with a song related to bones and muscles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RHZZ-71SxMT.  The reading with various stories about what their body can experiment. The pupils have to write some sentences using the word bones, muscles and bones. Finally we will do a speaking class where students have to think how they can do with their body in their daily lives and they have to design a chart with the sports that they can practise.

Contents: locomotor system, sketelal system, movements.

Culture: aware pupils about importance of their body, thought facts like in the human body, what bones are in their body, what are the functions of their body, movements. The importance of taking care their body and what they do to be fit.

In conclusion the teacher will assess the creativity, motivation, effort and behaviour of the students in class to evaluate them.
